Humans are so fragile. All I did was use her leg as a launch point. So I dug my claws in a bit. So what? You should have heard the screaming and cursing. And, well, I guess there was a fair amount of blood as well. But still, it didn't justify what she did next.
Still cursing, she grabbed Lily and held her down. Snip, snip, snip. Lily cried and growled and writhed, but to no avail. Her claws got clipped. When the evil human we live with let her go, she tried to jump onto the chair, but, alas, no claws, no traction and *boom* down she went. Left with no choice but to slink off under the chair instead. Cats should not have slink.
Then is was my turn. She tried to call me in that sweet, 'I have a treat for you' voice she uses, but I didn't fall for it. I made her chase me down and catch me. Clip, clip, clip. No claws for me either, but at least this time she didn't cut one to short and make me bleed.
Sebastion is an idiot. He fell for the 'I have a treat voice' and went right to her. Faster than you can say, 'what in the hell?' (well, MUCH faster than I can say it anyway) his claws were clipped and he was free. Stupid thing didn't even struggle.
Then she went after Tabitha. Now, Tabby thinks she is a smart one. She knew what was going on and she hid. Unfortunately, she thought that since the human couldn't see her face, she wouldn't see her tail sticking out from under the covers. Stupid tabby. I have to give her credit though, she squirmed and growled and bit and howled. It took the human longer to clip her nails that it took to clip all three of the rest of us. But eventually, the job was done.
Don't tell the human, but it's kind of fun now. We don't have to worry about getting clawed, so we've been smacking the hell out of each other and playing like kittens.

I have a spider bite on my nose!!
I was playing with this cute fuzzy spider and the little bugger bit me. My person warned me it would happen. (She did not find the spider cute at all.) I don't feel too bad though. Tabitha ate him.

My Cat
My cat walks slowly through the house, measuring each step, examining the nooks and crannys, and I can almost visualize, the crown of diamonds on her head, the purple velvet cape trimmed with ermine trailing behind her.
When I call her name, she lifts her tail in acknowledgment, telling me she heard me but continuing her noble walk.
When she naps on my chest and gives me a lick, I feel privileged indeed to share my life with a cat.

Well, my face is all better, but the vet says my tooth is rotten. He also said it was a double rooted tooth and the teeth around it are fine. Whatever that means. He says getting teeth pulled is hard on kitties because it's really painful and we can't take anything but really strong pain medication that knocks us out. Since we're groggy from the medicine, we sleep a lot and don't eat enough and that impedes the healing process. Since I'm an old dude (almost 10) he thinks all of that would be too hard on me. So he's basically just hoping it rots and falls out. I'm not sure if I like that or not. I guess if it abcesses again, they have to seriously consider putting me through the pain anyway. Kind of sucks not to be the captain of your own destiny.
On a completely different topic, our person decided that all of Lilian's problems were due to nerves. (She throws up A LOT and she cries A LOT) She decided to let Lily go upstairs and live with those dumb dogs. She gets to go out in the backyard and she gets fed wet food... Our person says she seems happier and healthier. I'm thinking that maybe if I throw up on the keyboard, she'll let me go outside too. But she'd probably just take me to see the man in the white coat. Sometimes life just ain't fair.

I have an absessed tooth. My face swelled up like a ballon and I got really hot. My person held me down and did something to make all the infection come out of my cheek. It didn't bother me until she pushed on it. She said she was making sure it was all out, but it hurt, so I bit her just a little and she stopped.
Now I have a hole in my face and I have to keep washing that side constantly because it gets icky. But I'm not hot anymore. She gave me a bath. I don't like that, but it's not the worst thing. I like it when she puts the soap on and rubs it in and I like the cuddling afterward, just not the water part.
She took me to see the man in the white coat. I hate riding in the car to get there, but this time one of the little people came with us and held me all the way there and all the way back. She talked to me and let me hide under her arm.
I like the man in the white coat. He's nice and he pets me and talks to me. This time though, he gave to me two shots and shoved a pill down my throat. I did not like that at all. Oh, and he did something really nasty with a thermometer that I won't explain, but you all know what I mean. That was so not right.
When we got home, she had medicine for everyone, even the dogs! She got all the others and brought them upstairs and took them to the bathroom. I didn't see, but I heard the howling and crying. I tried to get in, but she locked me out. They all came out wet and stinky though, so she must have given them all bathes. She said she put stuff on all of us to make the fleas stay away, but I didn't see it.
She even made the dog take a bath. She's so stupid though, after her bath, instead of sitting quietly and licking herself dry, she went outside and raced around the yard and rolled in the dirt. Dogs can be so dumb, expecially the big ones.

The evil children left the house on friday and our person said it was cool enough to shut the doors, so we got to go upstairs on friday. It may not sound like alot, but there are so many rooms to explore and the kitchen is up there and oh....so many windows. We got to roam around for hours.
Lily has a thing for the dogs. She loves them. Whenever we are freed she runs right to them and rubs herself all over them and talks to them. They seem to like it. She runs off if they try to lick her though. At least she has some sense.
Tabby and Boo just think being upstairs is some kind of day at the races. They zoom around, chasing each other and having little collisions with each other, the furniture, the dogs. It's exhausting to watch.
I just roll on the nice soft carpet for awhile and then get up on the nice cool tiled table that is right under the ceiling fan. I knock everything off it and then sprawl under the fan. It's glorious I tell you.
I hope they leave again next weekend. Maybe I can try out the new ceiling fan in the kitchen, it's right over the table too. I'll have to be sneaky though, I get swatted when I try and lay on that table.

Our person has decided that after our recent bout with the nasty tape worms, Lily and Boo and too skinny. So now, they get all the milk and wet food they can eat. Tabby and I are not allowed near the wet food or the milk. This is not fair. I'm the oldest, I should get the good food.
I sat on the bed next to our person and explained very loudly that I -needed- milk and wet food, but she shooed me away. Shooed!! I sat down, looked at her and peed on her bed. I did get smacked a bit, but it was worth it. That's what she gets for not giving me the milk. Of course, now I'm banned from the bedroom whenever she's not home...

I am on a quest to find all of the live journal cats out there. It's boring when our person works and we need somthing to read. She leaves this nice warm computer on all day long. She piles things on top of it so that we won't sit on it, but we just knock it all off.
I can't believe there are so many of you out there. I hope at least a few of you friends us back. And please tell us about any kitty communities we've missed.
We even found a bunny....

The Lilycat is coughing a lot. I think she's in for a trip to the vet. She wheezes when she breathes. *sigh* I don't like it when my person leaves with one of the youngesters. I get nervous that they won't come back and I ask lots of questions that no one will answer.

We got bologna and cheese last night. Lily ate most of it, the rest of us are pickier and only nibbled at it. Lily, however is a food whore. She'll eat anything and go to anyone who offers her food. If there's no food to be had she hides and yells alot, but boy, pull out the food and she turns into a little slut.
Silly girl should have some pride. Learn to sneak up on the food and pretend it doesn't interest her, then steal it when no one is looking. THAT is proper cat behaviour. She acts like one of those stupid, drooling canines.

You are a tabby cat. The total home-body. You'd be content just to stay at home all day and not get up from the couch. You lazy sloth! Try and make a movement every now and then, or someone might decide to bury you in the back yard!
What color of cat are you? brought to you by Quizilla
Tabby indeed.

Our person was extremely affectionate yesterday. She kept picking us up and hugging us and she gave us all some mac and cheese. We love mac and cheese. She said something about seeing a big orange tabby by the side of the road. She seemed sad about it, so I gave her some headbuts and tried to wash her face. She didn't even yell at me when I tried to help her type.

They fixed the screen door and now none of us can get out. We are trapped all day and we can see those dogs running in and out of the dog door. We get little glimpses of the outside, but we can't get there. We protest loudly and constantly, but they all just say, sh...you're safe in there, be quiet. We don't want to be safe, we want to catch birds and small furry things that squeak!
As if being locked inside all day weren't indignity enough, our person trimmed our claws! That silly tabby kept climbing the screen and getting stuck on top of the door, so our person locked us all in the really white room and another one held us down for her so she could cut our claws.
Tabitha bit her, but the rest of them just howled and cried a lot. Personally, I didn't cry, I yelled at her. I wasn't climbing the screen! She didn't need to clip my claws.
I think I'll go smack that silly tabby again.

She forgot to buy cat food! Four of us nibbling constantly and she forgets to buy food. We yelled about it all day yesterday, even though she promised to bring some home after work. She came in and we all ran up to greet her and get food and guess what? She left it in the car. We had to wait another hour! We had to yell at her and walk on her and sit in front of her computer screen until she finally gave up and went to get it so we'd all leave her alone.
I tell you, trying to get her to feed us was exhausting.

She locked the doggie door last night and let us come upstairs and hang out ALL night. There's so much stuff to check out in the bathroom and the kitchen. Someone left mac and cheese on the stove and we had a mini feast. We didn't even get caught! They were too busy watching the box with pictures to come see what we were doing.
The next door neighbors had company last night, so we all had to get up and look out the window and see what was up.
She scared the little dog with the box that flashes. He doesn't like the light. He tried to go to his room and go to bed, but the door was closed (so I wouldn't go in there and pee on the bed again, they'll never forgive me for that and I only did it once!)

I came to live in this house with my person 9 years ago this month. She rescued my sister, Mynx and I from a nice lady who had way too many cats. Our mother was a stray that died when we were born. We were the only two in the litter. ( Read more... )
